Serious Jest: (Watch It Live) Quite simply put, this show is amazing. The story is masterfully written (hence, the success of the book)–this is a modern-day Lord of the Rings, in terms of quality; the dialogue is engaging; the characters are deep and multi-dimensional–there are many different opposing players, and it is difficult to choose which side you want to prevail; and the actors do a great job of bringing those characters and their unique qualities to life–for example, Jack Gleeson plays an incredible prick, Emilia Clarke is beautiful and was a great choice for the dragon queen, and Peter Dinklage is extremely charismatic and witty as the Imp. This series gets 5 mugs spilling over with delicious brew, because every week I made sure to watch it live, I can’t wait for next season, and I love to discuss it with other people who watch it. One good question from “Special K” in Maryland, though: Where are all the black people?
CraigMakk: (Watch It Live) I completely agree with Jest on this one. Since the conclusion of “The Return of the King”, I have been patiently awaiting a medieval fantasy story to become invested in, and it is finally here. GoT is an excellent show with many different characters and side plots that you can sometimes get lost in all the intricate twists and turns. Not having read the books, I was completely surprised by some of the chances the story took throughout, and was left waiting for more. Next season cannot come soon enough. Maybe I’ll go read the other books in the meantime…
